I live near Minneapolis, Minnesota with my husband, Tom, a Doberman Pinscher, 3 cats and an Arabian Gelding. As a native to Minnesota some of my personal photography focuses on capturing the ever-changing seasons and natural beauty that entices many who visit to stay in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Once you visit it is hard not to fall in love with the cool, misty autumn mornings, which so often fade to reveal colors of amazing variety and splendor.

When I am taking a photo I am looking for an opportunity to show the world a different view using light in creative ways. I want to capture the beauty that so often gets lost in the hustle and bustle of the daily grind. When taking a photograph I am forced to slow down, take a deep breath, and really see what is there before me and to enjoy that moment to its fullest capacity.

I am always working on upgrading my knowledge and skill with additional photography courses as well as seminars to ensure I am on the cutting edge. While my focus is on Equine and Pet Portraiture I do not limit my education or photography to those areas. Different techniques and ideas from one type of photography easily transfer over to others for unique ideas and photographs for you, my client.

In addition to my photography business I am a member of the Minnesota Army National Guard. I feel that my experiences in the National Guard allows me to use my photography skills to support my fellow soldiers and their families, as the soldier is about to deploy overseas through a non-profit organization called Operation Love ReUnited. Please see the Op Love page for more information.

I also do charity work in support of a non-profit organization called The Children's Home Society, which provides assistance to struggling families and adoption services.

Equipment

While the equipment does not make the photographer I do feel it is important that quality equipment is used when taking your photos. I currently use a Canon 7D and 40D. In addition, my main lenses are the Canon 70-200 F2.8L and Canon 135 F1.2L. However my lenses range between a Canon 50 F1.4 up to a Canon 500mm to ensure I capture your perfect memory.

"The sight of that pony did something to me I've never quite been able to explain. He was more than tremendous strength and speed and beauty of motion. He set me dreaming" - Walt Morey
